Today, I finished reading The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho.  This is one of the most inspiring book I have yet to read.  The whole book is simply mind boggling, but yet refreshing to read.   I normally don’t touch a book unless it snags me by the first chapter and that’s what the book did!  The journey throughout the book is something that many can relate to at times, and I enjoyed the journey of life’s legend relating to God’s plan.  Well, I recommend this book for a light read on a raining day. (=

Prior this book, I was at a point where I just wanted to be okay with not knowing what I wanted to do with life.  I wanted to be at a plateau for a brief moment, just because I wanted to fight away the Asian obligation of preplanning the future.  Needless to say, it wasn’t much success trying to avoid talking about what you’re going to do after college and what you want to do after college.  As of now, I know what direction I am going and the opportunities ahead of me are not limited yet.  So I will once again start on my journey in pursuing what God has always planned for me and what He is waiting for me to start to achieve.

i want to move because it’s too high! but it’s so pretty too look at the layout and design of the library. hahaha…at least im sitting down because my legs were buckling standing.

so i was summoned to jury duty on my bday(yesterday)…horrible RIGHT?! basically praying that they wouldn’t call me to be a juror.
sooo, i waited from 7:45am til after lunch around 2:30pm…so far so good….
THEN! around 2:30ish….my name was called along with about 65 other people to go into the courtroom.

the judge told us a brief over view and that it was going to take about 10 days and if anyone cannot do this please give a reason….so one by one the people that had excuses that they couldnt do this case stood up and gave their reasons why…and we had to wait til it reached to all 65 people….about 18-20 people got excused (LUCKY BUTTS) (side note: i didnt think i had a good reason, everyone else’s were about financial hardships and family stuff)….anyways so then they picked potential jurors to sit at the juror stand…and of course with my luck…MY NAME was called…the judge gave us a handout to answer and if we can answer yes to the question tell him and tell him what, why, when, where, who, blaaah….so there were 3 rows of us…and we only got to finish up to the first row(i’m in the second row. middle seat) before he called everyone back for tomorrow because it was already 4pm and they were closing….BOOOOO…some bday morning and afternoon…

i had a little time to cool off from being picked and got home to talk to my sister a little bit before going on a family dinner at THE CRANE – japanese… for my birthday. ate some sushi and then got a dessert at this bakery…

but the FUN didn’t really start until after…my sister michael and i went to target to buy a game to play, and we ended up picking TABOO.
we got home when dillon arrived and we played 3 rounds first to reach 30 pts. PRETTY CLOSE GAME! the funniest/saddest part was that i couldn’t win! hahahhaha took the last round as i paired up with michael and we won by 1 point the VERY LAST SECOND. whew*

what a fun way to end the night…especially when i had to wake up to be at jury duty again at 10:30am BOOOO.

today, i reached jury duty…and waited another 20 mins, probably because there was another case in our courtroom that was lagging. when i got in…they started the interview where we left off right away. after the 4th person, i was next! so i said my name, where i live, occupation, and i gave my sister’s occupation and michael’s because i lived with them. (hoping that because i lived with a pastor makes me bias…because they’re looking for jurors to be impartial), then i told them that i had a change of schedule as yesterday my mother told me she booked a vacation for the family next week (since the case was gonna last longer this week). the judged asked if she had already paid for it, and i said yes because it’s for my birthday. he asked, “oh! it’s for your birthday, what would happen if you didnt go to your birthday trip”…(haha…) so i said well i just wanted to let you know, and she told me yesterday to surprise me because it was my birthday.
THEN!!!! a miracle happened, and the judge said happy birthday and asked the lawyers if i could be excused from this case. they said YES…and BAM!! i’m out of jury duty! HEHEHEH best after birthday EVER.

it’s been quite a month! and i can’t remember at least half of it!
don’t worry i mean that in the soberist way possible hahaha

this was on good friday. i didnt have work
and mary and cathy were free!!! so we took this opportunity
to go to la and catch up on live together (=
these girls are seriously a great blessing
and i can’t forget about suji and judy…and i hope
in the summer we’ll all have more time to relax and play
again especially when judy gets back from korea!!

so i googled by name and found my OOLLLDD friendster!
before all the myspace facebook and twitter came out…
there was friendster…and i found an old picture in the
profile album!….this was….march 04…my sophomore
year in high school w. the pep-squad girls during our
break of the weekend of Nationals. hahahahahhahahah

something HORRIBLE happened and i got in a fight and
broke my finger…..

HAHAH JK. i hope no one believed that.
true story: i was cutting an avocado and the blade missed the
seed and sliced deeeeeeep into my left index finger. BOOOOOO
blood GUSHED out and squirted everywhere around the sink
and it took 3 hours to finally slow the bleeding…while i refused
to go to the ER. the next day i went to my student health care
center and they said i should have gotten stitches when it happened
but since i waited overnight it’s not a fresh cut anymore so they
could only tape it and give me a splint…so i had a splint on for
the majority of the week. i would like to say that it is healed now
PRAISE GOD for no infection!!

this weekend we helped out with vision doing their game event
pretty crazy game…hahaha leave it to uncle marsh to make everyone
play it and have everything planned out.
vision is going to Indonesia this year…so please keep them in
your prayers as they share God’s love through their songs and
fellowship internationally with language and culture barriers

i think my ONE of my biggest pet peeve in the WORLD would be
rude people and not just ANY rude people, but rude people that
have absolutely no reason to be rude. why is it necessary to be
rude unless there is SOME kind of point you want to get across?
what is it?
power…control…?

another thing that bugs me…and actually hurts me would be
judgment. i think i’ve been hurt by so many prejudgments that
it’s getting a bit ridiculous now especially when it’s been long
since high school. and this would just be high school CRAP
so i guess for those who read this and those who DON’T
because this is the only asian way i could pretty much confront
everyone and be stereotypically passive aggressive:
don’t judge me and think you know how my lifestyle is
or think you know what I do with my friends and who i am

i’ve heard the thoughts. i’ve heard the expectation of my “crazy”
life. but honestly the truth is i just like to have fun. and why can’t
i have fun and still have morals? does fun NOT EQUAL having morals?
cause if that’s your definition then you must be a very BORING
person, right? so lay off please. don’t look at me and assume i
do drugs, don’t look at me and assume i get around, don’t look
at me and assume that i’m a troubled person, etc.

i’m not stupid but i’m not a genius and i’m okay with that.
who is perfect in this world anyway?
you might not have to like me or respect me…but don’t assume
things about me please.

this is a bunch of emo-ness before my papers. it’s been on
my mind for a while. it’s not everything i feel but the best i
can put in words. it’s not for any person in particular or to
anything really recent but just thought i write out my thoughts
about something that’s been bugging me, and i pray that
God will take this bitterness away from me so i can be refreshed.

i can’t imagine how big the boys are NOW.

anyways…life is as crazy as usual. it’s filled with school, work, bills,
friends, family, and God. i admit, i get caught up with all these responsibilities
that i’m forgetting to praise God in my ups and downs. something
i need to keep myself accountable for. it’s humbling to see that i can’t
do things myself. so i’m still trying to let go of my worries about school
and where i’m headed in life.

school has been quite an experience these past four years, from switching
majors: dance to sociology, making it to PAC Modern: spring 08, finding
out if i qualify for a full ride by grants every year from fafsa(which thank God i did),
getting classes dropped, passing and barely passing (C’s), and now TRYING
to pass! AHH bio200 is not my forte. i’ll be going into my 5th year to finish up
my major classes, then where to?

one thing about work is that i hate macy’s and would like to get out
as soon as possible. too bad the job market is horrible!

bills bills bills! life has too many. hahaha at least it’s not as bad now
so i’m actually thankful. don’t want to complain too much about it
because in a few years i’ll probably have to worry more about
car payments, rent, plus the rest of growing up.

anddddd it’s spring break for the UCs

and mary jon and dennis MADE me play munchkin quest…
it’s a geek game…and i was a hater about it…but now i want to
keep playing….oooohhh noo…hahahah
munchkin quest is about battling monsters which i can honestly say
something i thought i would never do in a card/board game
even when pokemon was big i never played the card game.
so this is the closest i’ll get to the anime/comic world

i might want to boycott starbucks soon just because they
never get my name right and they ripped me off today.
today i ordered a grande soy cinnamon dolce latte and a tall
soy caramel macchiato for barba. i picked up both cups and
the tall felt so much more heavier than the grande, but i didn’t
want to be asian and complain so i walked to class. when i got to
class i opened the lid and found LESS THAN HALF of liquid inside
a GRANDE while barba’s tall drink was full to the top. so essentially
i got less than a tall drink but paid for a grande. those JERKS.

just an FYI to those that have seen my character jumping pictures
at disneyland…. i don’t think the characters do it anymore! BOOOO!
we asked LILO and these two brother bears and they said NO to us!
how dare they right? hahaha i guess there goes my jumping series…

sometimes i just don’t understand life!
and i get the feeling i’m not alone on this….what sucks is
that no one, even psychologists can really fully understand
relationships. they can find…correlations that are
ultimately hypotheses that haven’t been proven wrong yet,
but they don’t have full answers.

then it goes back to…answers!
why do i need answers?! sometimes i have to learn it okay
to not have answers to everything, or need answers to everything
sometimes i just have to “let by gones be by gones” (old saying)
or basically God telling me to let go and let Him.

i struggle with being always right…but let me just say that
i was more stubborn before than i am now. but okay i must
admit i’m a bit hard to handle when i HONESTLY dont think
i’m wrong.

you know how relationships are about sacrifices?
God’s still working on that with me.

now about communication…why are the levels so different?!
i kind of blame this on society…seriously… forms of gender
communication are such learned behaviors, and it’s stereotypical.
i would like to point out that girls aren’t ALWAYS the needy ones
that guys seem to claim them to be. i believe that girls
are and can be independent but it’s hard to live up to what girls
want to be when there is a attack reaction or expression
from guys with the SIMPLEST statement from girls.

this is a good point to just re-evaluate myself in where I
am standing. who i want to be…and who God wants me to be.

reminder: no one is perfect, that’s why we needed Jesus.

Getting to go to the iTRUTH retreat this weekend has been
a wonderful blessing to connect with a small group of the
high school ladies. A true work of God’s light shining so
bright from their hearts.
